What is the difference between White Paper and Recycled Paper?
The main difference between white paper and recycled paper is in their raw material. White paper is manufactured from virgin fiber that comes from Eucalyptus planted forests. Those planted forests are sustainably managed so they can always provide Chamex papers with quality fiber. Recycled paper, for its turn, is manufactured with 50% of virgin fiber and 50% of recycled fiber. Recycled fiber is manufactured from a mix of OCCs, and part of those OCCs is collected in other paper machines as waste — the so-called pre-consumption OCCs — and the other part comes from used paper disposal — the post-consumption OCCs. Only 25 to 35% of used OCCs are post-consumption.
All the papers from Chamex line are certified, ensuring their origin and commitment to the environment and communities around the company.
